Publication Ethics
The Indonesian People’s Law Journal (Jurnal Hukum Rakyat Indonesia) strictly adheres to the principles of publication ethics to ensure integrity, transparency, and accountability in academic publishing. The journal follows the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Duties of Editors
- Ensure fair and unbiased review of all manuscripts without discrimination.
- Maintain confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and author identities.
- Make publication decisions based solely on academic merit, originality, and relevance to the journal’s focus and scope.
- Prevent any conflict of interest in the editorial process.
Duties of Reviewers
- Provide objective, constructive, and timely feedback to improve the quality of the manuscript.
- Maintain confidentiality of the review process and do not use any part of the manuscript for personal benefit.
- Disclose any potential conflict of interest with the manuscript under review.
- Decline a review assignment if they feel unqualified or unable to review within the given timeframe.
Duties of Authors
- Submit original works free from plagiarism or unethical practices.
- Properly cite sources and acknowledge the contributions of others.
- Disclose any conflicts of interest that might influence the research or interpretation of results.
- Refrain from submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously.
- Cooperate with the editorial team in the revision and correction process.
Duties of the Publisher
- Ensure that the journal is managed following recognized academic publishing standards.
- Support the editorial board in handling ethical complaints and misconduct.
- Uphold academic freedom and integrity by protecting authors and reviewers from unethical influence.
- Ensure permanent availability and accessibility of published works.
